The Adidas Superstar was the first low leather basketball shoe to be made. The sneaker became known as "The Shell Toe" because of its iconic rubber toe cap. It was adopted by the hip-hop culture and in particular embraced by Run-DMC in the late eighties. Superstar was first released in 1969, which makes this classic more than 50 years old!
