The Adidas Superstar was the first low-top leather basketball shoe ever made. Due to its iconic rubber forefoot, the sneaker became known as "The Shell Toe". It was adopted by hip-hop culture, which made it big and mainstream in the late 80s and throughout the 90s. The Superstar was first released in 1969.
